I need some assistance from you please. Is it possible that you can send me a calculation on the following examples. With the examples in the Act it is not very clear how they derived at the answers.
Example 1
Employee is terminated and earn 2500Birr. He receives 20 000Birr in leave paid out with his final pay
Example 2
Employee is terminated and earn 2500Birr. He receives 20 000Birr in leave paid out with his final pay. The employee also receives a severance pay out of 15000Birr.
Can you also explain how you set up the payroll calendar in terms of the Ethiopian calendar that is different to the Julian Calendar.
• The tax year end is on the 7th of July (1st Hamle – Income Tax proclamation 286/2002 section 67).
• How does Ethiopian companies cater for a tax year that ends on this date?
